There are continuing problems with the NARPO travel insurance through the broker Towergate.

As most members know AXA are stopping their cover and Towergate were looking for a new provider. This has proved more difficult than expected and the deal with the first company was suspended due to numerous problems.

Travel insurance launch for NARPO members
Following the approval by the NARPO executive committee, Towergate Health & Protection is pleased to confirm the launch of the new travel scheme.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank members once again for their patience in recent weeks. Our team have been working tirelessly to support the launch of the scheme and also working to support members, and we know it has been a frustrating time waiting for news of when the new scheme will launch. Members will be aware that the combination of Brexit and the pandemic caused significant disruption to the UK travel insurance market, and it has taken us far longer than we had hoped to source the underwriting capacity necessary to deliver a solution suitable for members.
The new scheme is provided by Tifgroup and insured by Arch Insurance (UK Ltd); and will offer members new cover options (single trip as well as annual multi-trip) plus an online ‘quote and buy’ website and the ability to pay for cover by credit and debit card. The new scheme also provides the continued support and advice of the Towergate team who can support members through the application process and provide advice on the options available to ensure members receive the most suitable cover.
Below are the details of the new scheme.
Arch Insurance (UK) Limited is an award-winning, A rated insurer, part of the global Arch insurance group of businesses. Tifgroup is one the UK’s leading travel insurance providers, who specialise in providing innovative and tailored travel insurance solutions. The product is designed by tifgroup, insured by Arch, and arranged by Towergate Health & Protection. The maximum age for annual multi trip cover is 85 years, with higher age limits available via a single trip cover policy.
Summary of the cover available
The policy premium will be based on your age, medical history and area of travel as well as any additional benefit options if chosen, such as cruise cover. A summary of the main benefits is below, but please refer to the policy document for more details:

· Comprehensive cover terms negotiated specially for members of NARPO, including extensive cancellation cover options
· Single trip cover available
· Annual multi trip cover available
· Choose geographical options from Europe, Worldwide excluding USA or Worldwide including USA
· Maximum 85 years old for an annual multi trip policy
· Choose from 3 levels of cover to suit your requirements
· Choose from optional extras such as cruise cover; winter sports; sports equipment
· Medical underwriting terms designed specifically for older customers
· Comprehensive Covid-19 cover as standard

We are receiving very high levels of calls at the moment, which is making it difficult for the team to respond quickly to queries from members who may need assistance with claims, wish to arrange the renewal of their PMI policy, or other matters regarding their policy. If members have general questions about the new policy that are not answered by the attached FAQ document, we would be grateful if they could wait a little longer before calling the team.
